COVID-19 UPDATE: Walking Football Bedford Sessions

Session Highlights

Session Details

• Play in whatever you feel comfortable in. We have coloured bibs for the games.
• We suggest you bring some water.
• Teams and matches will be arranged according to numbers attending.
• If you can't make a session, please email us.
• We will advise you via email if a session is cancelled.
• We ask everyone to complete a Registration Form - by completing the Registration Form we expect you are in good physical condition and do not suffer from any disability that would prevent or limit your participation in Walking Football, should you have any concerns please consult your Doctor before playing. Registration Form details remain confidential. Your emergency phone number is kept with us at each session.
• We also ask everyone to complete a Medical Form (all details remain confidential). These too are kept with us at each session in case of emergency.
• We carry Public Liability Insurance - any Personal Insurance is down to you as an individual to arrange.
• Any under 18s must be accompanied by a Parent/Guardian at the sessions.

Playing Rules

(Matches currently conditioned as 3 touch)

• Match Ball – size 5 astro suitable ball.
• Footwear – Astro Boots or Trainers MUST be worn (no studded or bladed boots).
• Team sizes – adjusted to fit numbers attending.
• Running – a free kick will be awarded at the starting point of the run (this is with or without the ball).
• Slide tackles – are not allowed and a free kick will be awarded.
• Contact – only minimal contact allowed – a free kick will be awarded for strong challenges or any similar infringements (PLEASE NOTE).
• Free kicks, kick ins, corners – apart from deliberate handball which will be a direct free kick - all are indirect. The defensive wall can only be made up of one player and they must be 3 metres from the ball. The goalkeeper must roll the ball out underarm.
• Head Height – the ball cannot be played above head height – if infringed the free kick will be from where the ball was played. Balls over head height resulting from a save from the goal keeper or from hitting the frame of the goal should be returned to the keeper for them to start play again with a roll out.
• Goal area – where marked the goalkeeper may not leave his area, outfield players may not enter the area. An indirect free kick will be awarded for either transgression.
• Goalkeepers – players must each take a turn in goal.
• Back passes – the goalkeeper CANNOT receive the ball directly from a team mate to whom they have just passed the ball without the ball having made contact with any other player.
